Pandamaran New Year Fireworks Fiasco: Police Denies Attending 2016 Fiesta Committee

The fireworks fiasco that went viral on the Fiesta Gegar Klang 2016 at the Pandamaran Sports Complex, Port Klang in celebrating the New Year last weekend, has not rest with the Police denied permits issued with the fireworks display.

According to Mohd Sani Harul of the Selangor Fire and Rescue Department, seven victims were treated on the scene by medical personnel of minor injuries to their legs, while another three and 4 children was sent to Hospital Tengku Ampuan Rahimah, Klang due to the fireworks, were discharged in the morning.

The Klang Municipal Council (MPK) had refuted the Police denying knowledge of any activities involved in the event, since the Police were represented and attended the meeting of the organizing committee.

ACP Ahmad Alzafny Ahmad, the South Klang District Police Officer, today reaffirmed, the Police were only invited once to the November 24th 2016 by the event organizer; MPK and never involved in any discussions since.

Hence the police consider no fireworks display since MPK had not sought the police permit.
