KPDNKK Awaits Response From Packaging Companies

The Ministry of Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism (KPDNKK) has not received any feedback from the packaging companies on the proposed packaging of subsidised cooking oil in 1 liter bottles.

Datuk Hamzah Zainudin, Minister of KPDNKK said a study on the consumer willingness to purchase 1 litre bottled cooking oil and the price mechanism has been carried out and the findings will not be disclosed.
According to Hamzah, the proposed bottling of the subsidized cooking oil in 1 liter pack will proceed with agreement by the packaging companies.

The ministry would introduce the subsidized cooking oil in a bottle of one liter as an option to consumers in bottle or plastic pack, Hamzah reiterated.

However, it is noted, the raw material involved in bottling will cost 40 sen more compared to the cooking oil in plastic pack which costs 10 sen lesser
